Hello, everyone. My name is
Anthony Sequera, and I am
thrilled that you are joining
us here. We have Chris Ward
with us as well. Today, we are
going to be discussing
leadership and performance on
our teams and utilizing Agile.
Chris, I am going to throw it
right to you to
just kind of tell us what it is
we'll be delving into
in this area of leadership
today. Well, you kind of hit a
couple of those right there.
Just leadership, performance.
These are things that any
project needs, whether it's an
Agile project, whether it's a--
I would say even a predictive
project. So what we're going to
cover in this particular
course-- and remember, this is
a part of our series on PMI's
Agile-certified Professional.
Make sure you watch all the
courses if you want to prepare
for that exam. But if you want
to just learn a little bit
about how do I enhance my team,
how do I concentrate on
leadership skills within the
Agile methodologies-- and by
the way, that means whether
it's Scrum, whether it's XP,
DSDM, Crystal, name it, this is
going to be a part of it.
The nice thing about working
with teams in an Agile
environment is that the
concentration will always be on
small, self-organized,
self-empowered teams that allow
them to quickly adapt to any
type of change that comes their
way. Now, that's a heck of a
lot different, as we all know,
from our predictive world that
many of us as project managers
come from. Now, I don't know
where you are in your journey
or whether perhaps you already
have your PMP, a CAPM, or some
sort of project, maybe Project
Plus from CompTIA. You might
have that experience in project
management. And what you're
going to see here is going to--
I hate to say it-- fly in the
face of what you are used to
doing. So Anthony, that's what
we're going to be covering.
And I'm pretty excited to
actually get to do this with my
friend, Anthony Sequera, who I
have done many, many trainings
in the past. But now we get to
do one together here.
I was going to mention how
long we've been friends.
And that will just make us both
feel very old. So I won't go
into that level of detail.
But Chris, this sounds really
exciting. It really does sound
like a course where we're going
to be able to take advantage of
certification, assistance,
and guidance. But even if we're
not interested in
certification, if we're just
really interested in improving
our performance in these
leadership teams, this is going
to be great. Well, let's get
started. We've got lots to
cover. And we're going to jump
in in our very next episode.
