WEBVTT Thank you so much for joining us. I'm Lauren Deal. I'll be your host and your learner advocate as we go along this journey together. But the person that you need to know is Wes Bryan. Welcome to the show, Wes. Tell us a little bit about who you are. Absolutely. I've been a technical instructor now for about 15 years, and I teach a variety of technical certifications, including things like CompTIA, Microsoft, as well as a lot of skills-based hands-on training. So I'm looking forward to being a part of this journey with you if you are just getting into networking and networking communications. You are definitely a name to know, and so I'm excited to be learning with you as we go along. And I'm curious, Wes, what are we going to be talking about? All right. So you're going to see a variety of instructors that are going to join us here, and I'll be one of them as well. And what we're going to look at is we're going to look at an intro to things like networking concepts, talking about things like the protocols, cabling, standards. A lot of stuff that will help you to speak the lingo of networking communication so you can start to have those conversations. And then we're going to move into other things like network implementation. Now we're going to kind of steer away from the conceptual side, and we're going to show you how do you get in and configure the devices, how do you implement some of the technologies that you will be faced throughout the series. For instance, things like routing technologies. We'll look at other things like switching technologies all in network implementation. And then we're going to switch over to something like network operations, right? This is where we look at more of the procedural stuff, the documentation stuff, operational procedures, if you will. We'll look at network security, too. Network security is going to be important. Remember, we have to secure the devices and the infrastructure that we're learning and computing the protocols and the technology surrounding network communications. And then finally, we're going to go ahead and we're going to show you how to do some network troubleshooting, including implementing troubleshooting methodologies. We'll look at physical network interface issues. We'll look at things like switching and routing issues. We'll look at cloud-based technologies likewise. So you're going to see a lot of a variety of concepts that are going to be in this course. And I'm looking forward to being one of the many people that you can see will join you as you move through this course. We're going to have a lot of fun, Wes, and you're going to see a lot of fun faces. I'm curious for the people who are tuning in, what kind of prerequisites might they need, or can they be a beginner? They could be a beginner. Yeah, absolutely. Now, I will tell you, you do have to bring some level of knowledge to the table. A basic understanding of computing infrastructure is going to be important, right? And pass that. If you've got a basic understanding of computer infrastructure, hey, I think you're going to do just fine. Keep in mind, you do not have to have experience as you're establishing or you're entering this course, because that's our job, and we'll help you along that journey wherever it might lead you. Well, we're excited to start this with you. And so we're going to jump into the first episode and help you along your networking endeavors. See you soon.
