Welcome to Manage
Installing, Windows Client.
I'm your host, Lauren Deal, and
I'll be your learner advocate
asking all the questions you
may have at home to this guy.
Welcome into the show, Wes.
Tell us a little bit about
yourself. Sure, absolutely.
For the last decade or so,
I've been a technical
instructor
and I teach a variety of
industry-based certifications
that may be recognized. I teach
a variety of the CompTIA Core
Foundation certifications, as
well as I've been a Microsoft
Certified Trainer. I have been
in the tech training industry
for quite a long time. I've
taught MCSA paths as well.
I'm an MCSA, Microsoft
Certified Associate myself,
as well Microsoft Certified
Professional. I hold a variety
of Microsoft certifications and
I have gone through and then
definitely sat exams over the
course of my training tenure.
I'm really looking forward to
diving into some of the content
we have that's really
surrounding the Windows Client
operating system to help you
leverage and get the most
benefit out of your training.
Well, speaking of which, I
have to brag a little bit.
He is one of the best trainers
I've had the opportunity to sit
with and learn from. His style
is phenomenal. Now, let's just
jump into the course though,
Wes. What can we expect from
this type of learning? There's
going to be
three major topics that
we're going to be looking at.
If you're looking at installing
and deploying the Windows
Client operating system,
whether it is a small office
environment or whether it's a
corporate enterprise level
environment, you have to do
large deployments. We're going
to touch on all those types of
deployments and we're going to
walk you through that process
and how you could perform some
of those tasks. We're also
going to look at something
known as client side Hyper-V.
Hyper-V is Microsoft's flagship
virtualization platform.
A lot of times when we think
about Hyper-V, we think of it
from the server side providing
server side virtualization.
But in the Windows Client,
there also is the Hyper-V
platform. For the most part,
it is almost a one-to-one copy.
The interfaces are identical
and we can utilize it in order
to test our virtual machines in
a production environment or
create lab environment. We're
going to show you how to
install, manage, and maintain
Hyper-V on your Windows
clients. Then finally, some of
the big things that I'm looking
forward to is showing you how
you can customize and configure
the Windows client settings
within the operating system.
This is going to be a really
fun show. If you're at home and
you're thinking, maybe this is
for me, maybe it's not, who
should be watching this?
You don't have to have a
background in Windows in order
to join in and get the benefits
out of our discussions that
we're going to have throughout
this series. However, there is
going to be some assumed
knowledge. I would recommend
that you have a basic computer
and networking knowledge
brought to the table as you
dive into this course so that
you can get the most, the
biggest, I would say, benefit
out of this course.
There is some assumed
knowledge. You do have to have
a background in IT, but you
certainly don't have to have a
background in Windows to get
benefits from this course.
Well, I'm excited to get
started. Let's not waste any
more time. We'll meet you in
the first episode.
