Network Implementation
Network Implementation Overview
In this Network Implementation course, students will learn the concepts associated with routing and switching in modern networks. Students will also learn about wireless devices and technologies in addition to learning about important factors associated with physical installations. This course fully prepares you for the Network Implementation domain of the CompTIA Network+ N10-009 certification exam.

(upbeat music) - Thank you
so much for joining us. I'm
your host, Lauren Deal, and
I'll be jumping into an amazing
conversation with Anthony
Sequera all about network
implementation. So welcome to
the show, Anthony. - Thanks so
much, Lauren, great to be here.
- I'm so happy to be having
this conversation because there
are so many moving parts when
it comes to network
implementation. So what
are we gonna be talking
about? - Yeah, we're gonna be
really
dividing up the
implementation of a typical
network today into the main
areas that we encounter.
We're gonna do a lot with
routing. So we're gonna discuss
how traffic is routed from
sub-network to sub-network,
from PC to PC, from router to
router. We're gonna then
discuss switching, another key
ingredient in networking today.
And we'll also be discussing
wireless and more physical
installations as well. So we're
gonna cover the gamut when it
comes to what makes up the
operation of a typical modern
network. - Well, I'm fascinated
to get started, but before we
jump in,
who might be the ideal
audience to watch this? Cause I
know I'm signing up. -
Yeah, so the ideal audience
member is someone that is A
plus or the A plus equivalent.
We often say around here that A
plus is such a great
critical cert that everyone in
IT should have. But let's
remember, if you have the
equivalent knowledge that is
covered in an A plus
curriculum, you're just fine.
So A plus would be the ideal
prerequisite certification.
-
That's always what I wanna
ask is what knowledge do I have
to have before we jump into
this? So that's very helpful.
And Anthony, you've had a lot
of experience in this field.
So
I'm gonna make you brag a
little bit. Tell us a little
bit about you. - Yeah, so I've
been doing networking
with a specialization in
networking since 1996. So yeah,
I can't believe how long that
has been over a quarter
century. I've been in this
field and it's been really
fascinating to see this field
evolve. And of course, we're
gonna discuss a lot of that
evolution in the episodes in
this module. So it's gonna be
really neat to kind of recap
things that have happened over
the last several decades in
networking.
In addition to my passion in
networking, one of the things I
get to teach a lot with you,
Lauren, oftentimes, which is so
fun, we get to teach a lot of
cloud technologies. Cloud and
networking, of course, are
going hand in hand today more
than ever. So just two areas
that I really love, both
networking and cloud. -
All right, so you know that
you're in good hands. You've
got a great leader here.
And so I'll be asking all the
questions that you might be
having for Anthony.
And remember, you can follow
along with the notes as well.
But Anthony, what do you say we
jump into our first episode?
- I think that sounds great.
We've got a lot of awesome
material to cover. - All right,
well, we'll see you soon.
