Thank you so much for tuning
in. I'm your host, Lauren Deal,
and I'll be your learner
advocate as we go along,
asking this guy probably all
the questions that you have.
In fact, Wes, welcome in.
Tell us a little bit about who
you are. Absolutely. I've been
a technical instructor now for
a variety of different courses,
CompTIA, Microsoft courses,
Microsoft Certified Trainer.
I've been a technical
instructor for about 15 years
now. Some of the things I
specialize are in entry level,
break fix technician, network
communications, as well as
cybersecurity. Really looking
forward to diving into network
troubleshooting and telling you
a little bit more about it.
Well, I'm excited to learn
along with you. I'm curious
about what we're going to be
learning about. Can you give us
an overview? Oh, most
definitely. We're going to look
at how we can implement a
systematic approach to network
troubleshooting. We'll
introduce you to something
known as a network
troubleshooting methodology.
That'll be very, very
important. We'll also look at a
variety of different network
issues that can happen, whether
it's network service issues,
cabling issues, physical
interface issues, routing
issues. There are a ton of
things that could potentially
pop up. And what we're going to
do is we're going to take you
through those, give you some
examples, and then some
solutions that you can utilize
to hopefully come to diagnose a
problem, right? Or identify,
diagnose, and I guess it would
be resolve a problem would be
the short, short version.
But we'll spend some time in
network troubleshooting and
walk you through that journey.
Well, I'm excited to learn
along with you. And I'm
curious, Wes, I'm kind of new
to networking. Who would this
course be best for? Oh, it'd be
perfect for you for sure.
So what we're going to do is we
want to kind of demystify some
of the concepts around network
communications, whether we're
talking about fiber optic
communications, copper media,
we're talking about routers and
switches. And what we want to
do is we want to kind of
present it to you and not kind
of, we will present it to you
in a way that's easily
digestible. Again, taking all
the demystifying it and bring
it to a way that somebody that
is just getting into the
industry or even somebody maybe
that's in the industry and
wants to move over to the
networking portion of their job
role, this is going to be for
you.
Well, I'm excited to get
started. And I know you are
too. So let's not waste any
more time and jump into the
first episode.
