Hey there everyone, welcome
to the CYSA+, or CSO
exam series here from ITPro at
ACI Learning. I will be one of
the SMEs that you will see
throughout this course. My name
is Daniel Lowry. Glad to meet
you, I'm glad you're here.
I will be accompanied by a
couple of other gentlemen that
will also be SME'ing throughout
your series, which will be
Anthony Sequera as well as Wes
Bryan. We will also be
accompanied by our gracious
host, one Miss Sophia Goodwin,
and together we will do our
best to help you navigate the
waters of the objectives and
domains throughout your CYSA+,
series. That said, you might be
wondering, what are we going to
cover? Well, we're going to
cover everything we possibly
can to help you get prepared
for that series. This is going
to be things like security
operations. How do we do a
day-to-day job as a
cybersecurity analyst? What
does that look like? What are
some of the tools and
techniques they use to do their
jobs and as well as prepare you
for those exam questions?
Other things we're going to
look at, incident response and
management, a very important
part of the cybersecurity
toolkit for any budding
cybersecurity analyst out
there, as well as vulnerability
management, also another very
important one, and reporting
and communication, which cannot
be stressed enough honestly.
It is something that we have to
get very good at giving the
reports to the people that need
them in a way that makes sense
to them so that they can enact
and use the cybersecurity
techniques and tools and
tactics that we give them to
help mitigate and remediate any
possible threats to their
networks. So that said,
let's talk a little bit as well
about the course, not the
course, but the exam itself.
There's going to be a few
questions, multiple choice,
some of them are
performance-based as well.
You can definitely check out
more
description, more details is
the word I'm looking for on the
CompTIA website, but I'll just
give you a quick rundown of
some of those lovely things.
They are definitely going to be
a maximum of 85 questions,
multiple choice and
performance-based. As I said,
the length of the test will be
165 minutes, plenty of time, so
hopefully to get you through
that. A passing score will be
of a 750 on a scale from 100 to
900. They do recommend some
experience with this. If you're
brand spanking new, maybe
you'll have a little bit of
catch-up to play, but not to
fret. They do say the network
plus or security plus or
equivalent knowledge should get
you as a nice baseline to be
prepared. So if you have that
equivalent knowledge, you
should be good to go. Other
thing is that the languages are
in English and Japanese,
Portuguese and Spanish to
follow. It's coming up. And of
course, retirement is also to
be determined. But there you
go, a little bit of the details
there about the exam itself.
I'll tell you what though, I'm
super excited to be a part of
this. It is a lot of fun.
I really enjoy cybersecurity
because I've been doing it for
quite some time. And hopefully
myself and Wes and Anthony and
Sophia, we can all help lend to
you our experience, our
knowledge, so that you can get
that passing score on the exam.
So that sounds awesome.
We hope you do think that
and we do look forward to
seeing it in the upcoming
series.
Overview
Knowledge of cybersecurity infrastructure and operations is essential for a cybersecurity analyst to effectively assess risks, detect threats, respond to incidents, and develop appropriate security controls. Without this knowledge, analysts may struggle to effectively protect an organization's IT environment. In this series, you will be introduced to cybersecurity infrastructure and operations concepts such as Log Ingestion, IAM, Encryption, and others.
