(Music) Welcome and thanks for joining us for this overview, this module on cloud troubleshooting. That's troubleshooting issues that you might run into when you're dealing with the cloud. So I think we're going to talk about various and sundry issues you might run into, but I'm just going to be an advocate for you, asking questions along the way. I'm Sophie Goodwin. You might have seen me in other courses here on the site, but the man that's going to be leading us on this expedition, teaching us what we need to know is Mr. Daniel Lowry. Could you tell us a little about yourself, Daniel? Yeah, right now I feel like I should be wearing one of those Australian Outback hats with a big buoy knife and I'll help you get through this kind of thing going on. But hi, I'm Daniel Lowry, fun introduction here. Man, been in the IT biz for a hot minute now over 20 years, and I am going to try to help you learn how you can do some troubleshooting when it comes to your cloud systems, environments, however you like to call it. So it should be a fun, good time. We'll have a few laughs along the way and we'll learn a thing or two. Now I know that my mind instantly goes to like security, troubleshooting security issues, but that's not all we're going to talk about. We're going to talk about troubleshooting some other things. Can you give us a taste, a little example? Surely, absolutely, because yes, we will be hitting on some security issues that stem to the cloud and things that go into the cloud as well, but that's not the only game in town. We also have to take a look at some of the deployment troubleshooting issues that we might have to take a look at, as well as network issues that can crop up in your cloud deployments. Now, I'm assuming if we're talking about troubleshooting issues in the cloud, maybe we should have some kind of a working knowledge of cloud stuff in general. What kind of level should we be at knowledge-wise before we jump into this? So you should have a vague familiarity of cloud systems, at least know what a cloud is. That's probably a great place to start, because how am I supposed to help you understand troubleshooting cloud stuff if you've never actually used cloud systems before? Good news is you probably have. You might not have been an administrator of those things, nor do you need to be, but having some familiarity with cloud administration and some of the bibs and bobs to go along with that is going to be helpful for you. Not completely necessary, but definitely a helpful thing, as well as understanding standard networking things and standard security practices as well is going to be very helpful. Even if you don't have that kind of background stuff that Dan just talked about, we'd still love for you to join us. Just might mean a little bit of extra work as we're going along, figuring out kind of what we're talking about. But I think it's going to be a pretty quick module. It'll go by so fast because we're going to be having so much fun. And as far as this overview goes, that's going to do it. So, Daniel, thank you for giving us a sneak peek into what we can expect, and thank you for joining us, and we'll see you in the course.
