Network Support Specialist Program

Course Objectives: 

This course provides network technicians and support staff with the foundation-level skills they need to install, operate, manage, support, and troubleshoot a corporate network.

Prerequisites: 

A typical student taking the CompTIA Network+ course should have a minimum of nine months or more of professional computer support experience as a PC or help desk technician.

• Networking experience is helpful but not mandatory

• A+ certification or equal skills and knowledge are helpful but not mandatory

Course Objectives

• Identify security threats

• Harden internal systems and services

• Harden internetwork devices and services

• Secure network communications

• Manage a PKI

• Manage certificates

• Enforce an organizational security policy

• Monitor the security infrastructure

Prerequisites:

• Basic computer literacy

• Basic PC operating system navigation skills

• Basic Internet usage skills

• Basic IP addressing knowledge

Course Objectives

This is the first of two Implementing and Administering Cisco Solutions (CCNA) courses. Part 1, teaches learners how to install, run, configure, and verify a basic IPv4 and IPv6 network. The training includes configuring a LAN switch, configuring an IP router, connecting to a WAN, and identifying basic security threats.

Prerequisites:

This is an intermediate level class with the following prerequisites:

• Networking experience is helpful but not mandatory

• Network+ certification or equal skills and knowledge are helpful but not mandatory

Course Objectives

This Cisco training is the second of two required Cisco courses for Implementing and Administering Cisco Solutions (CCNA) certification. Part 2 provides entry-level network administrators, network support, and help desk technicians with the knowledge and skills needed to install, configure, run, and troubleshoot a small enterprise network.

Part 2 focuses on:

• Understanding redundant topologies

• Troubleshooting common network issues

• Configuring EIGRP and multi-area OSPF in both IPv4 and IPv6

• Understanding Wide Area Network technologies

• Becoming familiar with device management and Cisco licensing

Prerequisites:

Students must complete Cisco Certified Network Associate Part 1 or have equivalent education/skills to be eligible.
